Merelyn Valdivia

Degree in Biology and MSc in Ecotourism. System thinker. Social & scientific research within projects related to agroforestry, land use, local knowledge and ecosystem services with an inter and transdisciplinary perspective focus on socio-ecological systems and work in science-policy-society interface.

Based in Italy, I currently work with FAO’s Plant Production and Protection Division (AGP), where I assist in managing the dialogue and literature components of the virtual Farmer Field School (FFS) Platform. This platform aims to provide some unifying principles to what is intrinsically great diversity on the ground. FAO’s field school programmes are good entry points for discussing people-centered climate change adaptation measures with governments and other stakeholders.
