WEAVING GRIEF, THE BODY AND TRANSFORMATIVE JUSTICE RETREAT BURSARY APPLICATION FORM

Thank you for applying for the Weaving Grief, the Body and Transformative Justice June 2021 Residential Retreat.

We are aware this is a difficult time for many people. Years of austerity followed by COVID – 19 has led to the loss of jobs, income and security for many people. In this context, we are aware that many might feel tempted to apply for a bursary, given the conditions that so many people find themselves in.

However, we ask you to really consider your means and whether you have other access to financial support within your family or extended network that would allow you to cover the costs without a bursary. Please see GEN sliding fee scale document for guidance. In addition to bursaries, we can offer support to set up a crowdfunding campaign, or help in applying for other funding, to assist successful applicants raise additional funds for retreat fees and travel costs. In the event that we raise some funds on your behalf, it can be impactful to share some of your story with potential funders. We will always ask for your express consent before sharing any information.

The limited amount of full and partial bursaries we have are intended for those who cannot, under any circumstances, attend without additional support. We hope that those who find themselves in a difficult moment now, but pre COVID experienced abundance, will make space for others to apply for the bursary places.

Each bursary application will be considered in its own right. We will also refer to the GEN sliding fee scale document. Bursary applications are due on December 15th (please ensure you submit your retreat application form at the same time).

BURSARY CONDITIONS

For every GEN event, we have to fundraise in some capacity. One of the most important and challenging parts of this fundraising is to prove the impact of GEN events upon all those attending – be it a one-day workshop or our intensive residential events. In exchange for a bursary, we ask you to share your personal accounts/story(ies) of how Weaving Grief, the Body and Transformative Justice has impacted you. This can take the form of a blog piece, video or recorded Zoom conversation. We ask that this is provided by August 31st 2021. This will actively help us continue fundraising for future GEN projects, bursaries and seed funding to support all members of the network.

All fields are required.

To apply for a full or partial bursary, please answer the following questions in no more than 500 words.
